The theme of this year’s IWD is #ChooseToChallenge. A challenged world is an alert world.

Individually, we’re all responsible for our own thoughts and actions – all day, every day. We can choose to challenge and call out gender bias and inequity. We can choose to seek out and celebrate women’s achievements.

From challenge comes change, so let’s all put our hands up and choose to challenge.

There may be some new arrangements to keep us all safe and well (see Covid-19 Protocol details below). We can promise you a most entertaining and enlightening afternoon and an opportunity to reconnect with our wonderful Byron community.

This event is our annual fundraiser for The SHIFT Project and is the cornerstone to our continued success in helping women transition from welfare to wellbeing. Our program of work experience, education and support has a tremendous success rate of over 90%.

Together we will create some great memories and have some laughs, while raising money and challenging ideas and stereotypes.

New for 2021

You can now buy raffle tickets online with your event ticket. There are 4 fabulous raffle options: $100 ticket (limited to 60 tickets), $50 ticket (limited to 100 tickets), $20 ticket and $10 ticket.

Sponsor a Ticket is our new way of supporting our fabulous volunteers and residents to attend the event. If you are in a position to sponsor 1 of our 20 tickets simply add them from the sponsor ticket option.

Covid-19 Protocol

Your safety is our priority so we have ensured this is a covid safe event with the following protocol:

Private Entry Point

Entry to IWD Lunch is through the back of the function centre ( as per Writers Festival) so parking will be in the field behind Elements in order to access the entrance more easily. There will be no entry through Elements foyer.

QR Check-in and Temp check

All guests will be required to check in via a QR code before entering (so have your phones at the ready) there will be 5 QR points to avoid crowding.  At the entrance staff will also take your temperature.

Once you have cleared the entry point you will arrive at the event check in where you will be advised of your table number and be seated at your table. Arrival sparkling will be served at your table.

There will be a cash bar, however you will have to proceed directly to the bar and back, we are not allowed to walk around and mingle from table to table.

In order to help with the check in process we ask you to aim to arrive at 10.45 so everyone can be seated by 11.30.
