General board member, Cath Watson

“I regard my position on the board of SHIFT as an absolute honour and I hope that my years working in the field of mental health and amongst Byron Bay’s most vulnerable population can continue the work being done to help bring about real change for this amazing group of women”.

Cath is our most recent addition to the SHIFT board. She moved to Byron Bay in 2016 after many years working in acute, forensic and community mental health facilities in Brisbane. She joined the Byron Community Centre as a volunteer, doing outreach work with our rough sleepers and helping to run the Community Shower Program and Wet Weather Shelter. She also recently joined our enthusiastic team of volunteers at the Linen SHIFT.

Cath brings to SHIFT many years of experience working as an R.N. in community transitional accommodation and believes passionately in our program.

Cath is the mother to 3 amazing adult children and recently became a doting grandmother to two adorable babies.
