Caitlin Fine is the Treasurer of The SHIFT Project, overseeing the management and reporting of the organisation’s finances.
Caitlin currently holds the position of Finance Manager for a local company in Byron Bay. She has a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in accounting, and brings to the Board more than 6 years’ experience working for a not-for-profit organisation.
Caitlin has volunteered for many organisations in both Australia and overseas, actively combining her accounting and business skills with her passion and drive for the community development sector.
As part of Caitlin’s university course she completed a community development exchange program in a rural village in Java, Indonesia, where she was able to contribute her business skills to help develop a successful and sustainable project with local craftsmen to expand and improve their business.
Caitlin has a passion for working with children and women. This passion has seen her volunteer in Indonesia with an organisation that helped to get children off the streets. She also successfully project managed a fundraising and equipment raising drive to send resources to underprivileged schools in the Philippines, where she had spent time volunteering.
Caitlin understands that what keeps women in poverty can often be their lack of financial means and independence. She hopes to empower women through facilitating and supporting them to increase their financial skills, knowledge and independence. Caitlin holds a firm belief that through sustainable financial means, one can navigate their way out of poverty, enabling individuals to lead a rich and fulfilling life.
Caitlin’s vision for SHIFT is for the program to remain an independent, self-sustaining not-for-profit organisation, which has the ability to positively impact the lives of many community members.
“It’s a privilege to be involved in SHIFT, a program that is not just crisis intervention, but something that has the potential to really change lives over the long-term, and positively impact future generations.
“My life turned around when I began to believe in me.” The SHIFT project empowers women, creating vibrant, goal orientated people who want to make positive changes in their lives.
